In House Patent Paralegal Position

Description:

The position will be assisting in-house counsel working on USPTO and foreign filings, office actions, assignments and other related USPTO filings for a variety of medical device and pharmaceutical related patent applications. They will be proofing and editing patent applications and office actions and prepping office actions. They will be developing and tracking dockets (US and foreign), filing on line assignments, working with the deposit accounts and reviewing IP related documents and agreements.

 

Requirements:

  • Four year college degree. Paralegal certificate preferred but not required
  • 5 years of paralegal experience mainly with the U.S. patent prosecution and some foreign prosecution and trademark work
  • Excellent computer and typing skills (including proficiency on Word and Excel), proof and editing skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of USPTO patent procedures and patent claim format
  • Experience with docketing tracking software and patent licenses are a plus
  • Technical background and prior experience with medical device and drug related patents is preferred

Research Scientist

Description:

The ideal candidate is expected to play a pivotal role in our R & D team. The candidate must have a background in biochemical analysis such as spectrophometric, fluorescence immuno assays, HPLC, CE, LC-MS. Experience with microplate assays is must and experience with Luminex MapX technology is an advantage; possess a master's degree in biochemistry or related fields with relevant job experience in pharmaceutical research or a related field.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform bioanalytical assays for the quantification of the analytes in preclinical and clinical samples
  • Participate in the development of in vitro/in vivo models performing a variety of microplate assays independently with minimal supervision
  • Design and manage the data from complex experiments including preliminary statistical analysis

Mimimum Qualifications:

  • DVM and/or Ph.D. in Physiology / Pharmacology with at least 3 years of in vivo research experience esp with large (non-rodent) animal models
  • Experience in one or more therapeutic areas: CNS, GI, CV and metabolic diseases
  • ACVP board certification a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Scientists
  • Provide oversight and resident expertise for all preclinical studies
  • Establish appropriate animal models for evaluating the drug-device combinations
  • Establish relationships with CROs for conduct of nonGLP as well as GLP studies
  • Interface with ADME and PK experts to characterize the full PK-PD and toxicodynamic profiles of the novel drug-device combinations
  • Contribute to hands-on in vitro laboratory work as needed, which may include isolated tissue, cell-based, colorimetric, HPLC and ELISA assays
  • Support the filing of applications for human studies by preparing reports and appropriate sections of regulatory documents and represent the company at EMA/FDA meetings

LEADS ENGINEER

Description:

The ideal candidate is expected to play a pivotal role in our R & D team. The candidate must have a background in mechanical engineering relating to biomedical engineering. Experience with designing and developing medical products is required and experience with implantable leads such as cardiac pacemaker leads is an advantage. B.S. degree or commensurable experience is required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new conceptual leads in groundbreaking fields of medical devices.
  • Prototype lead designs and perform preliminary bench top testing
  • Develop processes for advanced lead designs
  • Develop, document, and implement test protocols for design verification and process validations
  • Design tooling for manufacture and assembly of implantable leads
  • Support in vivo and clinical evaluation of developed components

Qualifications:

Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer for Medical Devices

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop firmware for very low-power, battery powered systems consisting of a mixture of analog, digital and RF circuitry in highly integrated, low power embedded designs
  • Key member of a cross-functional team. Participate in design activities at both the architectural and implementation levels.
  • Design and implementation of error checking and fault handling, robustness and safety features
  • Document software design and implementation, including requirement specifications
  • Support verification and validation testing, work closely with the verification and validation team to develop test plans and protocols
  • Adhere to standards to help ensure compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), and Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) standards.

 

Qualifications:
